The Tokyo Skytree is one of the tallest towers in the world and is a huge tourist attraction in Tokyo. When I visited the Skytree, I took the train - because the Skytree has its own train station. From the station it is only a couple blocks till the Skytree town, which is basically a huge collection of tourist shops and traveling gifts. Then you arrive at the skytree itself. The first several levels are giftshops and events. The fifth floor even had a carnival. From there you can pay about $30.00 to ride the elevator to the top, which is over 300 floors away. I did not ride up this time because it was already dark. As you can see in the first picture, the tower is lit up at night for cherry blossom season.
Instead of riding to the top of the tower, I bought lots Sumikko gurashi (http://www.san-x.co.jp/sumikko/profile/) paraphernalia. かわいいね? SO CUTE!
