Navigating Tokyo


The picture above is a map of the train system in Tokyo, just Tokyo.
It is quite intimidating.
Fortunately, there are several apps which make traveling easier. My favorite is hyperdia.com which tells you when, where, connections, costs, and its all in English. What more could you ask?


These pictures are from the famous crosswalk outside Shibuya station. 
It is the crosswalk that is always on documentary films accompanying some staggering statistic about the population of Japan. In the picture below, I am part of the crowd in the daylight, and again at night. The buildings and billboards look much more impressive at night.

The dog statue is named Hachiko.
It celebrates a dog that loyally waited in the same spot for its master to come home from work, even after the master died. The statue is located just outside of Shibuya station, right next to the crosswalk. Directly in front of the statue was a picture of the Softbank dog もこもこ as you can see in this video link: https://youtu.be/IJcvRLKO_pU 
I liked the contrast between the two dogs.
